7 Most Common Hair Mistakes

There aren’t so many things in woman’s life that she is as sensitive about as she is about her hair. You can hide that extra pound that you gained during holidays and you can use make up to cover up some imperfections that you don’t want seen, but when your hair just isn’t right, it is a true nightmare. There is only a limited number of occasions when you can wear a hat, so make sure that you are doing what is best for your hair. Check out these mistakes and try to avoid them for so that every day is your good hair day.

#1 Brushing Only the Ends

Brushing and combing has one of the most important functions and that is to spread out your natural oils that the skin on your head produces, so that it can protect the hair and act as a nutrient. Another very important thing is massaging the scalp to entice blood circulation.

#2 Washing Too Much

You will hardly find a person that truly needs to wash their hair daily. The more you wash it and the more aggressive products you use, your hair will only become duller and weaker. The scalp itself produces the oils needed for hair protection and drying the scalp too much with using products daily diminishes its benefits.

#3 Misusing Irons

Don’t use hot iron on wet hair. Never, never, not even once. That is the surest way to damage your hair, make it look absolutely destroyed and burn each hair individually. Just take those couple of extra minutes to dry the hair completely before ironing it.

#4 Using Too Much Product

While using it too frequently can destroy the natural ability of your scalp to protect your hair, using too much will make your hair lifeless and dull. You never truly wash out all that product from your hair, so using too much conditioner or too much shampoo will mean that it all burdens your hair and makes it flat and lifeless. If you are forced to use that much product or to use it more frequently, try going for organic hair products.

#5 Repairing Split Ends with Products

OK, the truth is, this cannot be done. The only way to remedy split ends is to cut your hair regularly. Therefore, stop wasting time and money on products that promise something that cannot be done.

#6 Damaging Hair with Brushing

Even if you are in a hurry, you shouldn’t brush in a way that makes a lot of hair stay on your brush. That is a sure sign that you are pulling too hard. Use your fingers to untangle your hair and then a comb that is not too thick. In this way, there will be no need for forceful brushing and your ends just might stay whole and they won’t split that much.

#7 Forgetting to Protect it

You need to protect your hair from weather conditions, too much cold, wind or sun, as well as from the treatments with hot iron or hairdryer. This is done by using oil pack you can make hair packs at home.

Care about your hair and don’t spend every minute obsessing about it and it will be just fine. Over treating it is just as bad as not taking any care about it.
