Ativan Users In Peoria: What To Know About This Addictive Drug

Ativan is a drug that is making a name for itself in the addiction sphere, as have many other prescription drugs. It has recently been the reason why Drug Rehab in Peoria has become popular. In fact, pill drugs in general are fast becoming the most commonly used and abused drugs out there to date and the truth of this is shown in the simple fact that pill form drug abuse has been labeled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC), to be the most concerning substances in the United States today and to be a legitimate, “epidemic”.  For example, Peoria is having a real problem with club drugs, (almost all of which come in pill form), and now Peoria is earning a name for itself as the party and rave scene of Chicago.

The club scene and rave parties in Chicago have popularized an assortment of other drugs, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, (NSDUH). Many young people believe these drugs are harmless or even healthy.  Ecstasy, (also called MDMA, E, X, E pills, Adam, STP), is a stimulant and hallucinogen used to improve mood and to maintain energy, often for all-night dance parties and raves.  Even a one-time use can cause high fevers to the point of inducing a seizure or even death. Long-term use may cause damage to the brain’s ability to regulate sleep, pain, memory, and emotions, and may create addiction too.  The drug is abused by tens of thousands of youths today.  This is huge in Peoria and all across Chicago. It is also the drug that most patients have used when they enter Drug Rehab in Peoria.

Ativan: The Silent Killer in Peoria

Ativan is by far of all the pill drugs in Peoria the most common and popular one.  It is the death drug, because it is so insanely easy to overdose on it if one is not immensely careful.  It is causing havoc and troubles all across the city, none of which can be as well explained as a simple list of its side effects do:

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Tiredness
  • Weakness
  • Dry mouth
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Changes in appetite
  • Restlessness or excitement
  • Constipation
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Frequent urination
  • Blurred vision
  • Changes in sex drive or ability
  • Fever
  • Shuffling walk
  • Persistent, fine tremor
  • Inability to sit still
  • Severe rash
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Vertigo
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Slow reflexes
  • Mood swings
  • Hostile behavior
  • Erratic behavior
  • Tremors
  • Slurred speech or stuttering
  • Confusion
  • Issues with memory

What to Do About It

For those in Peoria who are addicted to Ativan, the only thing to do is to go to an inpatient drug rehab in Peoria program.  With inpatient rehab it becomes possible for those who are addicted to actually do what is right and kick their habit once and for all.  Though this might not seem totally easy and simple at first, it has to be done and it has to be done sooner rather than later.  With proper rehab though, the addiction problem in Peoria will slowly but surely become a distant thing of the past.
