Causes Of Yeast Infection

There are many different causes of yeast infections. Yeast infections can affect men, women and even babies. Yes, even babies can get a yeast infection; the yeast infection begins in the mouth and then travels by way of the digestive track which then turns into stool which is then expelled into the diaper. If that diaper is not changed quickly a standard diaper rash will change into a yeast infection. When cleaning a baby after a dirty diaper it is very important to wipe thoroughly from front to back. A little talcum powder will not hurt. Talcum is known for taking moisture out of places which is where yeast grows.

Make sure when you are putting the diaper back on the baby that you leave some room for air. Putting a tight diaper on a baby will trap in moisture and could very well cause an infection. You can try an over the counter yeast infection cream such as Monistat and then apply as directed. If the diaper rash or yeast infection has not cleared in up about 3 days then consult your doctor.

Adults can get yeast infections from breast feeding, from sex or in general too much yeast. Most yeast infections are minor and can be treated. It is very important to get treatment for your yeast infections if left untreated it could turn to something more serious. People who have diabetes, HIV or leukemia are more prone to constant yeast infections. Other causes of yeast infection sin women are pregnancy, birth control pills and even menopause.

Men can get yeast infections as well. But they are not too common at all and they are usually passed during sex. If your partner has or is being treated for a yeast infection and you at the same time have sex then chances are you can get the yeast infection. Men can also get yeast infections from condoms with Nonoxidyl 9 Spermicide. Men can also get yeast infections from sharing a shower towel with a partner who has a yeast infection. Plus the other common ways like clothing that is too tight or from perfumes and body sprays that people sometimes spray in that area.
