Most Important Nutrients In A Diet And What They Do

A healthy diet is important for a healthy lifestyle. A diet helps you maintain your health and your body needs nutrients in order to function properly. A healthy diet gives energy and provides nutrition without the worry of gaining weight. You’ll want to take care of your body as you age as well, or else you might end up being taken care of by practical nurses and doctors (learn more about nursing classes here). There are a lot of nutrients you need to keep your body healthy, and these are the most important nutrients and what they do.

a. Vitamins

Eat enough fruits and vegetables to get the proper vitamins and minerals. You should eat at least 3 portions a day to fulfill the vitamins your body needs. There are about 13 vitamins the human body uses, and each one plays an important role with health. From energy to keeping your eyes healthy to radiant skin, it’s important to get all the necessary vitamins in your daily diet.

b. Calcium

Your bones need calcium every day and so does your heart. Calcium also helps to control your weight. The older you are, the more calcium you need. You can get calcium from green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds, and lactose product. Calculate the amount of calcium in every food you eat. Not getting enough calcium can lead to weak or hollow bones.

c. Fiber

This is one of most important nutrients when you are on a diet. Fiber is very good for your digestion. It also helps lower your cholesterol and manage your blood sugar levels well. You can find fiber in foods that have low calories so you can manage your weight. Having fiber in your meal could lower your risk of heart disease. Include fruits and vegetables at every meal. Make sure you choose whole-grain bread and cereal. You may need add fiber supplements to get the daily amount of fiber you need. Ask your nutritionist to get advice about fiber supplements.

d. Iron

Why is iron one of the most important nutrition for you? because it helps to transport oxygen to cells and tissue throughout the body. Iron is important to get rid of anemia. For women, they need more amount of iron than men. You need to include beef, chicken or egg in your diet menu to get daily amount of iron you need. You can consume iron supplement too .

e. Carbohydrate

You can’t miss carbohydrates in your meals, as they are the main energy source. Get carbohydrates by consuming foods made from grains. But don’t consume too much because it will cause weight gain. You’ll want to balance a good amount of carbohydrates with good ol’ exercise.

f. Protein

Protein is also an important source of energy for your body. It products enzymes, hormones and antibodies that are very important for your body. You can get protein from meat, beans, nuts, and soy products. They also help with muscle growth, which is why you see so many fit people eating lots of protein.

g. Water

Water is the most important nutrient for your body. Make sure you consume enough water a day and don’t get hydrated. It is involved in many of your body’s vital function and helps distribute essential nutrients to your cells. Most health nutritionists recommend around 64 ounces of water a day, which equates to roughly 8 8-ounce glasses. Thay might seem like a lot, but water from fruits, veggies, and food count as well.

Make sure you consume healthy food and get the right amount of nutrients you need. It depends on your height, weight, age and your activities. Stay healthy and keep looking fabulous.
