Night Creams And Their Potency In Delaying Ageing

You could be there wondering whether you really need a night cream or you are simply becoming a victim of the incessant media advertisements on these creams. Well, research has it that you need these creams and the earlier you tag them along the better for you and your wellbeing.

According to celebrity beauty experts, night creams are essential in reversing the damages done to the skin during the day and rejuvenating it. Put in another way, a skin lotion for the night is a powerful defense mechanism against attacks leveled at the skin tissue by the environment.

Why Night Creams are Critical

While your skin gets exposed for lengthy periods of time t some toxic substances during the day, at night there isn’t as much exposure to the elements. This gives it the best opportunity to heal and rejuvenate.  Night creams help in booting this rejuvenation process and enhancing skin metabolism through their effective ingredients.

One of the top ingredients used in formulating eye creams is retinol. When it comes into contact with the skin, it penetrates deep into the tissue and stimulates the creation of collagen fibers. This in turn helps in fighting wrinkle and laugh lines as well as smoothing the skin.

Ageing is a reality that we have to contend with and address it in the best way possible. With a simple skin care routine and some beauty products, some of the ageing signs can be done away with. Night creams are one of such products that you can integrate in your skin care routine. These creams are important because of the following reasons:

Renew Your Skin Cells

At night, skin cell regeneration especially between 2300hrs and 0400hrs, tend to double and this rectifies any cell damages that may have occurred in the course of the day. Night creams stimulate the production of collagen and the destruction of harmful free radicals.

Moisturizing the Skin

The quantity of water passing from the body to the surrounding atmosphere through the epidermal layer is known as trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). This loss happens through evaporation and diffusion. Night creams contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid which attract moisture to the skin thereby countering the water loss.

Enhancing Melatonin Production

Ultra violet rays can induce damage to your skin cells. While this is inevitable, the logical solution is to look at the best way to minimize the damage caused. Night creams come in handy because they have antioxidant ingredients that are able to fight the free radicals as well as melatonin boosting properties which give the skin an additional defense layer against UV rays.

Experts recommend that all skin types be subjected to a night cream so as to hydrate and moisturize them. These creams also help in balancing the oil quantity thus preventing cases of acne in oily skins.

On the age at which it’s considered right to start your night cream regime, 25 is the best age. This is because by the early 20s, the skin has already taken a beating from the worsening environmental conditions and failure to treat it right can lead to premature ageing.
