Physical And Mental Health

Age is a number that demonstrates one fact, how long we have been “alive”. Too often, this number drives those of us over a certain age into a spiral of depression and unnecessary health difficulties. Many of these health problems are unnecessary because they can be avoided.

The chances are good that if you are reading this and are in your twenties or thirties, you are thinking to yourself – “This article does not apply to me”. Experience proves otherwise.

Let’s look, for a moment, at the term alive. Do you bounce out of bed in the morning with an energy and enthusiasm for the day ahead? Or, are you bedeviled with depression, fear, and physical limitations? These are common for ladies regardless of their age.

Those physical limitations may be a direct result of the depression and fear you are experiencing. Let’s get right physically so our mental health gets on track, and we become “alive” yet again. Regular appointments with your primary care physician will bring to light any health challenges.

Then, we can shop for those killer outfits for a night out on the town or a weekend rendezvous. After all, when we feel better, we tend to show that off in our outfits.

Yoga

All the rage now, yoga has taken off in every major metropolitan city and small towns in between in the United States. Regardless of age, people are realizing the physical and mental benefits that come with regular yoga participation.

Special care must be taken to ensure that our yoga instructor is properly trained in the practice. Too often we hear of a new yoga shop opening, and the “teacher’s” credentials are a workshop over 2 days.

Yoga is not supposed to hurt. Therefore, if you start out and find it painful, heed caution. Medical professionals are finding that yoga helps people with awareness and strength. Add in that it reduces stress and improves overall mental well-being and it’s no wonder it is so popular.

Sweat It Out

Exercise relieves stress, and you don’t have to take my word for it. Look around at the gym parking lots as you are out and about running errands. Those lots are filled up for a reason, it works.

The internet is filled with stories of common people who have been saddled with unfortunate circumstances and found an outlet for their frustrations in exercise. Once again, it’s important to throw in a disclaimer. Be certain to get medical clearance from your primary care before taking on any new exercise routines.

Showcase Your Body

Now that you are doing what is necessary to get, or stay, in shape, why not show off a little in a new outfit? The natural inclination of the human condition is simple, when we are not well physically and or mentally, our clothing selection reflects this.

However, now that you have put in place some healthy habits bettering yourself, it will be second nature to spruce up your wardrobe. Ladies, we love to look our best. Take some action to feel the same.
