The Benefits Of Onsite Event Medical Coverage

Many films and television shows no longer confine themselves to an indoor studio when they are filming and will shoot on location to get authentic footage of the area where the story is based. With dozens of actors, film crews and support services on site, along with all of the necessary equipment on the sets, accidents can easily take place. In order to be prepared if medical emergencies happen on set, many film and TV production companies will hire event medical coverage companies to handle any medical issues that might arise.

Benefits of Onsite Medical Coverage

There are many reasons to hire an event medical company to provide medical care on your production site or for other events, including:

Immediate Response to Emergencies

There is often no time to waste when a medical emergency takes place, whether it is a vehicle accident or a medical problem. Instead of having to wait for medical help when an emergency occurs, if you have hired a company to provide onsite event medical cover, this will shorten the response time of medical personnel, which could save a life. You can have paramedics and an ambulance at your location in case of emergencies and, if one occurs, they can respond to the site of the emergency, assess the situation and transport the victim to a nearby hospital if necessary.

Even if the emergency is not life threatening, you can have medical personnel on site if someone takes ill and have them checked out. If an accident occurs and someone needs stitches, the onsite medical personnel can treat the injury without the person having to leave the set. They can also be on hand if an illness breaks out, such as food poisoning, and provide the necessary care to those who have fallen sick.

Lower Insurance Premiums

In most cases, going on location can cause the company’s insurance premiums to increase because the risk of accidents or loss of property goes up. However, if your company hires onsite medical coverage, this can help offset some of the insurance premium increases because there is someone who can respond to medical emergencies on site. While having paramedics, a nurse or a doctor on site doesn’t guarantee that premiums may be lowered, many insurance companies will give companies a break because they have onsite medical coverage.

Availability for Various Events

In addition to on-location film and TV productions, you can hire medical coverage for many other indoor and outdoor events that your company may sponsor. Whether it is a business event for your employees or a public event in which thousands of participants are expected, you can hire the medical coverage needed to handle any medical emergencies that occur.

Whether you are hosting a team-building event or a charity run, you can have triage areas set up to treat everything from minor exhaustion to more serious medical issues like heart attacks. With medical personnel on site, along with an ambulance, you can ensure that emergencies are responded to quickly and people quickly get the help they need.
